Im in Dublin and loving it 25/11/05
Well i have to declare people that it is SNOWING.....it is so bloody exciting. I was playing a drinking card game with the people last night that work at my hostel and all of a sudden one of the girls melissa from QLD north screamed out...Snow!!!.. She and I both have not seen it snow. We ran outside and it was amazing- unbelievable. The snow was so pretty and it fell on our faces and we started to cry. It was emotional. The cars this morning where driving around with snow. The snow didnt last. It just passed through. But its snowing again now!!!!!
On wednesday i went to the markets similar to a vic market and everything is cheap. The character of this area is amazing. people calling out etc etc for bargains. I brought some food and brought it back to the hostel to cook up. It was nice.
I walked over tha famous 'half penny bridge' which back in the day people had to pay to cross- hence the name. Walked around temple bar which is full of beautiful bars and pubs.
Yesterday I met a maltese guy from Sydney and he and i were bored so we decided to go to Trinity College and see the Book of Kells. Now the book of Kells is the oldest book in the world. It was written by Monks in the 13th century and has been given to Trinity college here in Dublin and sits in this amazing library which is heavily guarded. We paid 7.50 euro- so about 14 bucks to see it. But it was well worth it. The amount of details in the book illustrations is what im interested in. The guys that have seen my draw stuff at work will no what i mean. The amazing time these monks spent on this book. I have some pictures which i squeezed in as you couldnt take any shots. But there was no way i could at the actual book. The pages were lovely.
I have been to the guiness factory and it was ok- for a girl its not that exciting. I expected a production line and i got just videos and memorablila. I hated guiness. It was really disgusting.
